Contract

The contract is for the hire of the property for short term holiday letting, and will be entered into when Forester’s Cottages make written confirmation of the booking to the hirer, and required payment has been received.

Payment

A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the rental fee is payable in order to confirm the booking.
If the booking is made within six weeks of the holiday commencement date, the full accommodation rental fee will be required when booking.
The balance of the rental fee will be due for payment six weeks before the holiday commencement date.
Failure to make full payment at the appropriate time may result in the cancellation of the booking and the deposit to be forfeited.

Cancellation

The Hirer should notify Forester’s Cottages as soon as possible should the booking for any reason need to be cancelled. For any cancellation before the arrival date the deposit will be forfeited, and an appropriate refund on the balance will be made at the owner / manager’s discretion pending re-letting.

Hirer’s Responsibilities

The Hirer is responsible for the property and is expected to take reasonable care of it. Please leave all equipment and utensils etc, and the property itself clean and tidy at the end of your stay. All damages / breakages should be reported. The owners reserve the right to charge for any serious damage / breakages / extra cleaning which is deemed outside the normal wear and tear. Smoking is not permitted in any of the accommodation.

Arrival and Departure

The arrival and departure day is usually a Friday for week lets and 3 night weekend breaks unless otherwise agreed with the owner / manager. The cottages will be ready for your arrival after 4pm, and we would ask that you vacate by 10:00am on your day of departure, unless otherwise agreed with the owner / manager. Failure to respect the departure time may result in an extra charge for the time waiting incurred by the cleaners.

Numbers of people occupying a property

Under no circumstances may more than the maximum number of persons stated on the booking form occupy the property.

Keys and Directions

Directions and key arrangements will be made once full payment has been received.

Fuel and Electric

Fuel (oil fired central heating) and electric charges are included in the cost of renting the property.

Linen and Towels

Pillows, duvets and bed linen are all provided. We would ask that you provide your own towels, tea towels, and any cot bedding. A reduction in the rental cost is offered for those bringing their own bed linen.

Pets

Well behaved dogs and horses by prior arrangement.
Dogs to be kept off furniture and out of bedrooms. Dogs mus not be left unattended for any period of time. Dogs must be kept under tight control as we are located in a shooting and conservation area.
Horses are welcome with stabling and grazing available on site.

Complaints

Any complaints must be made immediately to the owner / manager, who will endeavour to rectify the problem as soon as possible, to ensure the continued enjoyment of your holiday. The complaint must be confirmed in writing within seven days of the end date of the Hirer’s holiday.

Lost Property

Lost property will be posted on at a cost of £10 + the postage costs. Foresters Cotages will take no liability for any lost postage.

Holiday Insurance

The hirer is strongly advised to arrange holiday insurance that includes cover for cancellation and the personal property of the hirer.
